What’s the key to effective learning?

According to The Significative Learning theory, the student only learns  what he is interested in and it’s related to his environment and daily life. That’s why when we think about how to teach it’s so important to have the following in mind:

Ø Teaching according to their TEACHING STYLES (this involves DIFFERENTIATION).

Ø Organize activities where they can do well.

Ø Emphasize MEANING rather than ACCURACY of the production of language.

Ø Use routines, so children will feel secure and know what to expect.

Ø Use commands and instructions in target language.

Ø Use stories children enjoy, even more than once. They will feel comfortable and engaged with them.

Ø Correcting mistakes all the time may damage their emerging confidence and self-esteem. Show interest and listen to them.

Ø Use games, music and different activities to present and develop the topic.
